[New Feature] Rankings Shortcode

We have released a new feature to display top 10 rankings on any post or page within your wordpress site.

The rankings will displayed as text on any page or post you want like this:

2013-06-30_1221.png

To display the rankings just use the following shortcode in your page/post:

[wcc_standings id=126]

The id is the unique id of your contest.

This shortcode is placed in a page or post like the following example:

How to do I get the id of my contest?

That's it for now, let us know what you think!

I am familiar with shortcodes and it just comes up showing the shortcode. I grabbed the post id number and replaced. it. Is there a plugin I am missing?

If you get this behavior it could be because you have the "[" and "]" encoded as html entities. Click on the "Text" tab on your WYSIWYG editor and enter the shortcode in that mode. That way you will make sure the shortcode tag gets displayed.

    Hi Victor,

Make sure you have the latest copy of the plugin, you can always download the latest version in the members area.
This may be the only issue with it not working, that I can think of.

If you still have troubles we can help you some more back in support. :)

I am trying to tweak this new feature to display the custom URL when they enter their email address.

I see this to display total points

But I want to add unique Url as well. Can you help me display this by editing the participant_stats.php file?

On this include file, you can't display the unique URL as this piece of information is not connected there. We would need to do core changes to make that available. It is a good idea, but we don't have this on our current update roadmap. We will definitely include it on a future update.

What we have for our next update is a feature that when a participant returns to the contest page, it will display their unique link again. We are constantly adding more & more enhancements so stay tuned for more.

Thank you for the suggestion Victor.

Is there a list of short codes available? I want a short code to automatically display winner name in a template.

IE: Krista Fisher, Won this contest! Congratulations Krista!

shortcode to diplay the name of winner by Highest Points:

[wcc_winner_name], Won this contest! Congratulations [wcc_winner_first_name]!

    Hello Creinold,

We currently have just the one shortcode to display in wordpress posts and pages.

You can however do this same similar displaying of the winner inside your template itself. So you would go to Templates > Edit Template, then in the template editor you will see a list of tags on the right including {winner_msg} and {winner_email_user}.  Using {winner_email_user} will display the users email without the @email.com part for privacy. So for example, john123@gmail.com would display as john123.

We plan to improve this and add shortcodes as well, thanks for the great feedback!
